Clients are asking ChatGPT for legal help before they call. What should a small firm do?
LegalScout is a ChatGPT app a small firm uses when prospective clients are already asking ChatGPT for legal help. The person enables the app and talks to that firm's associate, under the firm's name. A lawyer reviews the brief before anyone follows up, and the matter can sync with Clio. Firm pricing is a usage-capped trial with no credit card, $29 per qualified brief with no monthly fee, or $149 a month for the first Practice seat.
What enabling the app does
The firm’s associate, inside ChatGPT
The person can search participating firms and continue with that firm’s associate inside ChatGPT (https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6a878ecf07688191adaa18fde65ca1c6). The associate interviews them and leaves a brief. Voice, website chat, and phone remain available for people who are not in ChatGPT.
What it does not do
No interception of a generic chat
An ordinary ChatGPT chat about a legal problem stays in ChatGPT until the person enables LegalScout or opens the firm’s associate. LegalScout does not intercept that private conversation.
